Any new product or service takes time to populate the market. The typical method is taught in business school is to do marketing through advertising in main media like newspaper, television and internet. It is us doing all the work and paying the expensive costs. The biological world teaches us a better method, the viral spreading method, where each virus sent out will reproduce many copies of itself. Potent virus relies on air rather than through body contact and can overcome defenses. Such viral spreading practices can be mimic in our business world too. Each copy of our product must have such attractive features for the user to recommend it to others. We may also include news and features of related products or other accessories that enhance the experience. The best form of advertising is the words of mouth recommendations to friends.

This shows us that Bird Flu and iPad sales are the same according to Ancient Chinese. Where is the similarity? They are both spreading quickly.

How we can spread things quickly and widely? A strong core anchored on principles. A soft exterior that influences by winning the heart rather than forcing its ways. Following rather than overcoming the tide is faster and easier to spread. Meeting the needs rather than forcing what one think is good is easier for others to accept. An Iconic Symbol or a Brand is set up to attract extension is good.

On the other hand, dispersion of bad like flood waters or disease need to be controlled. In which case, it is best to isolate them.

2. Diffusion of water(floods) reaches the edge. Make sure our preparation and structure are adequate to handle.

3. Diffusion of Self. Breakaway from self-interest and be more inclusive. Wider mindset allow us to impact more people.

4. Diffusion of Interests. Breaking of many diverse interests groups and regroup into shared Community.

5. Wealth Diffusion. The accumulated wealth of the King or Government is dispersed.

6. Diffusion of Blood. Learn from past injury and stay far away from harms. Isolate disease to prevent spreading.
